Credit and refund policy

Effective: August 2025.

1. Credits are prepaid

Credits are purchased in advance and drawn down as you use the service. See Credits, Pricing, and Credit packs. Only tokens actually delivered are billed.

2. Refunds

• Unused paid credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase, where required by law or at Merki's discretion. Consumers in jurisdictions with mandatory withdrawal rights keep those rights. Request via billing@merki.dev with the account and purchase reference.
• Credits already drawn down are never refundable.

3. Expiry

Credits do not expire unless stated otherwise at purchase. If an expiry applies to a pack, it is listed in Credit packs.

4. Exposed keys

Losses caused by an auto-revoked key are never refunded. Key exposure is the customer's to prevent. See API keys.

5. Bonus credits

Bonus credits earned from a top-up promotion, currently 5% on single top-ups of 100 USD or more, lifetime cap 300 USD per account:

• Are spent first, before paid credits.
• Are not refundable and have no cash value.
• Clawback: a refund removes remaining bonus first; if bonus was already spent, the refund is reduced by the spent bonus amount.
• Are handled with the rest of the balance if an account is terminated, under section 6.

6. Enforcement and termination

Credits held in accounts closed for violation are forfeited, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Balances in accounts closed voluntarily keep the section-2 refund for unused paid credits. Bonus balances are never refunded.

7. Chargebacks

Initiating a chargeback may suspend the accounts involved while it is reviewed.
