Credits

Merki is credit based, and only credit based. You buy credits, and every request draws them down at the rates in the model catalog. Full price list: Pricing.

Currency

Prices, credit balances, and top-ups are in US dollars (USD).

Top-up bonus

  • Top up 100 USD or more in a single top-up and receive 5% extra in bonus credits.
  • Bonus credits are capped at 300 USD in total, lifetime, per account.
  • Bonus credits are spent first. Your bonus balance is drawn down before your paid balance, so the free credits are used before your purchased credits.

Bonus credits obey the same usage rules as paid credits. They are not refundable and have no cash value. Refunding a top-up removes remaining bonus first; if bonus was already spent, the refund is reduced by the spent bonus amount. See the Credit and refund policy.

Why credits, and not subscriptions

A subscription is a flat price with an implicit ceiling. When the ceiling is awkward, people open extra accounts to buy a cheaper plan a second time. That is the failure mode a subscription invites. Credits avoid it: there is nothing to game by opening another account, because the price of a credit does not change with who holds it.

Unlimited accounts

You can create as many accounts as you want. Use one for work, one for personal projects, one for experiments. Access is bound to the account, so a Personal account and a Work account stay separate. This is deliberate. Bonus caps are per account, and farming bonus credits across accounts is an Acceptable use violation.

Violations and linked accounts

If one account violates the Acceptable use policy, Merki can terminate other accounts that belong to the same person or organization. Termination is based on signals, not on a single guess. Signals include shared payment instruments, shared verified identity, shared infrastructure, and account behavior. When a violation is confirmed, the linked accounts are closed together.

Buying and using credits

  • Credits never expire unless the Credit and refund policy says otherwise.
  • Damage from an auto-revoked key is not refunded. See API keys.
  • Only tokens actually delivered are billed, including mid-stream failures. See Usage.
